Worship on the Water meets on Sundays from Memorial Day through Labor Day on the shore of Lewis Smith Lake where Yellow Creek and Brushy Creek meet.
The worship site features both car and boat access. Come as you are and experience God in the beauty of the outdoors this summer! Dogs and kids are welcome, leashed if necessary.

What to Expect
Worship on the Water is a relaxed, contemporary service in God's great outdoors.
We gather at 8:30AM each Sunday with coffee, pastries, and friendly people. We begin worship at 9AM.
What About Kids?
Kids of all ages are welcome! We have worship and learning activities just for them at the rear of the worship space led by caring adults and teens. If you have ideas for how to engage kids in worship, or activities they might enjoy, or would like to volunteer to help out on occasion, please speak to one of the adults that might be hanging around at the kids table on land or send an email to Cindy Cook at cook.cindy@gmail.com.

What About Boats?
Attending by boat or other watercraft? You have two options. One is to anchor offshore and listen through our speaker system. We will have someone on a personal watercraft greeting boaters, handing out bulletins, collect contributions, and on occasion, Communion elements. They will also deliver your contribution to the pavilion. If you don't get a paper you can find the bulletin linked above.

You are also welcome to dock and come ashore. You may enter the slough just south (downstream) of the pavilion where you will find several docks. Choose one on the left and come up the pathway. Another option is to tie to the dock just north of the Pavilion, or to beach your boat and tie it off to the power pole at the boat ramp. Please leave plenty of room for people wishing to use the ramp during your stay.

Whatever your choice, look for people in WOW T-shirts to give directions and help.
What About Cars?
Attending by car? Follow our handy signs, or put the address (224 County Road 3146, Houston, AL) into your favorite GPS app. As you enter the gate and the pavement ends, keep straight ahead and climb the hill. Look for volunteers who will direct you to the best parking place. Remember the loop is one way, so as you exit you will continue around the loop and back through the gate.
What About Rain?
If it has been decided that service needs to be canceled due to weather, we will make announcements as necessary on the WOW Facebook page, or you can sign up for our alert system. You can do that through the contact link on our bulletin and sign up to receive a phone call, text, or email. Or you can email Becky at revbeckyscott @gmail.com to add you through your preferred manner.

Our church's policy is that if there is a tornado warning for the Houston area during a regular service (including Worship on the Water, the traditional service, or Bible study), church is automatically canceled. Severe Thunderstorm warnings will cancel a WOW service. All weather announcements are handled on the HMUMC Facebook page and (as appropriate) the WOW Facebook page.
